A little bit about the album...
Some time during my wife Madhavi's 2nd trimester with Anjali I started thinking about writing and recording music specifically for our baby. I wanted the music to maintain a certain simplicity. I was looking for texture that was organic and melody that could lull a listener--particularly a baby--to sleep.
Once privy to a recording of what a baby hears in the womb--far from quiet and mellow but nonetheless soothing to baby--I added some pieces with more percussion as is in my nature.
I originally had this image of Madhavi and I putting the baby to sleep in his/her room and having this music playing as a companion. But as we are co-sleepers, it is even more precious to me to put this music on as we all lay down to nap.
This is the album in it's entirety.
Sounds and instruments you will hear include:
Piano, keyboards, tabla, kalimba, guitar, drill bits, guitar, tabla tarang, pandeiro, celeste, tamborim, sticks, dumbek, kanjira, dulcimer, toy accordian, shakers, caxixi, voice, hang, birds, water and other nature sounds.
