ABOUTJeremy Dyen is one of the most eclectic and sought after keyboard players in Philadelphia, and a true artist. Playing with the likes of John Legend, Mutlu and Zakir Hussain has certainly fueled his creative fire, from singer-songwriter to Indian fusion composer for Bharatanatyam dance. As a solo artist Jeremy has released three CDs. His most recent release, Battery, combines Jeremy's unique singer-songwriter style with world percussion, reminiscent of Paul Simon's Rhythm of the Saints. With exception to a few parts, Jeremy performs all of the instruments on the CD. He also engineered and produced it. As a freelance artist Jeremy recorded on John Legend’s Grammy award winning cd, Get Lifted. He has performed with G-Love and Digable Planets and tabla/percussion master Zakir Hussain. With former award-winning touring band Fathead, he shared the stage with numerous national acts including Green Day, Maceo Parker, Ben Harper, Weezer and George Clinton, and has recorded and collaborated with Grammy award winning producer, David Ivory (The Roots, Erykah Badu). Jeremy also currently plays with Alo Brasil, Mutlu, Amrita and Blivit. Past awards include “Best Keyboardist” (Philly Music Awards), “Best Original Band” (Blivit, Philly Music Awards; Fathead, City Paper Awards) and “Best World Music Ensemble” (Spoken Hand, City Paper Awards) Jeremy also blogs at www.stayathomepapa.com, where he speaks about his fathering experience, explores parenting ideas and shares lots of his unreleased music. Teaching Jeremy has been playing piano/keyboards for over 25 years and teaching for over 15. Students vary in age, from 5 years old to adults. However, he specializes in working with adult beginners or adults that have taken lessons as a child, but struggled to have fun with it and play music they like. These are often people who have studied previously with a "classical" teacher but were frustrated because they cannot play anything without sheet music, if even that.
